- While every booklet and brochure I recommend to my readers has merit and
- valuable information, there are times when I discover a truly exceptional
- publication. This week's tip is a "must have" for everyone. Its information,
- presentation and format puts it at the top of the list. It is called
- "Exercise and Your Heart", and was originally developed by the National Heart,
- Lung, and Blood Institute, and then revised by the American Heart Association.
- It is being made available to a large audience by the MetLife Managed Care
- Group. This is a full sized publication, in 8 1/2" by 11" format, wonderfully
- illustrated with all your friends from the Peanuts cartoon strip. The
- information about exercise and heart health is present in a unique Question
- and Answer format, enhanced with charts and tables that make the information
- very easy to understand and use. Everything from a chart that helps you
- establish the proper pulse range for your efforts, to sample jogging and
- walking programs, can be just the help you need to get started with your own
- program. A series of important tips will help you prevent the injuries that
- sometime befall individuals that start up a new activity program. You may
- obtain your copy simply by writing to Ms. Stella Croker, MetLife Managed Care
- Group, Department FD, 57 Green Farms Road, Westport, CT 06880, and requesting
- your copy. You won't regret writing for this one.
